- After being selected for the World U17 team in the Match of the Millennials, Anton Smirnov performed strongly to score 3.5/6, including wins against GM Sam Sevian and GM Ruifeng Li and a draw with Black against World Junior Champion GM Jeffery Xiong. This contributed to an upset win for his team.
